Agro Processing Machines in Ghana

Agro processing is where Ghana adds value to crops that currently leave the farm raw. Cassava into gari, flour and starch. Palm fruit into oil in the Western and Ashanti regions. Groundnut and soya into oil and cake. And shea in the north, which supports a large number of women's cooperatives and has an export market that pays for quality rather than volume.

Shea is worth treating separately when you brief us, because the processing chain differs from conventional oilseed and the buyers apply their own quality criteria. Tell us which market you are selling into and the specification follows from that.

The figure that shapes any of these plants is throughput per hour; the second is what the raw material actually looks like at intake. Moisture at delivery varies by region and season, and a dryer sized on an optimistic assumption becomes the bottleneck that caps the whole line. We supply cleaning and destoning, milling, oil expelling and refining, drying and roasting, and the packing at the end of it.
