Agriculture Machinery in Ghana

Farm machinery for Ghana is bought at two very different scales. Cooperative unions and district programmes buy in lots against tender. Individual farmers and tractor hire operators buy one or two machines and need them working for the next season, which in most of the country means a single planting window they cannot miss.

We supply tractors and implements, harvesters and threshers, planters and fertiliser equipment, and post-harvest drying, cleaning and grading. Rice in the Volta region, maize across the middle belt and yam in the forest zone each want a different implement configuration, and choosing from a photograph rather than from the soil and the crop is what produces a complaint later.

Because much of this equipment ends up some distance from a dealer, we favour mechanically simple machines and supply a priced spares list for the first two to three seasons with the wear items separated out. On a tendered order that schedule is often scored as heavily as the equipment price, and we provide it in the format the document asks for.
