Irrigation in Nigeria is expanding for a straightforward reason: rain-fed farming gives one season, and irrigation gives two or three. The schemes we supply range from a smallholder cooperative putting drip on a few hectares to a commercial estate running centre pivots.

The specification starts with the water source, because a system fed from a bore hole is engineered differently from one drawing from a river or a dam, and filtration is the component most often under-specified. Silty surface water will block drip emitters within a season if the filter stage was sized optimistically.

Power is the other decision. Diesel pump sets, mains where it exists, or solar pumping, and the right answer depends on your daily hours and the distance to a grid connection.
