Machinery manufacturers supplying Nigeria

Nigeria is the largest single market we ship to, and most of what leaves the works for Lagos is a complete line rather than a loose machine. Buyers are usually solving one of two problems: replacing imported finished goods with something made locally, or lifting an existing plant to a capacity the domestic market has already outgrown.

What we build for Nigerian plants

Tomato paste is the clearest case. Nigeria grows a large tomato crop and still imports concentrate in bulk, so the lines we quote most often run from washing and sorting through crushing, evaporation and aseptic filling. Cassava is the second: garri and high quality cassava flour lines, with the drying stage sized for humidity rather than for the brochure figure. Beyond those, rice milling for the Kebbi and Ebonyi clusters, palm oil pressing and refining in the south east, sachet and bottled water plants, feed milling, and bakery and snack lines for the Lagos and Abuja retail market.

Power, and the thing most quotations get wrong

Public supply is 230 V single phase and 400 V three phase at 50 Hz, but very few industrial sites in Nigeria run on it alone. We size motors and control gear for generator supply because that is what the plant will actually be running on for a large part of the week, and we ask about your generator rating before we finalise a machine list. A line specified for stable grid power and then put behind an undersized generator will trip on every start sequence, and no amount of commissioning fixes that afterwards.

Clearing the port

Machinery imports need SONCAP, which means inspection and a Certificate of Conformity issued before the container sails, not after it lands. Your bank opens Form M and the shipment is assessed through the customs PAAR process. We prepare the technical file, the packing list, the commercial invoice and the certificate of origin to match what the inspection agent will ask for, because a mismatch between the invoice description and the physical goods is the single most common reason a machinery container sits at Apapa.

Ports and inland movement

Apapa and Tin Can Island handle most of our Lagos volume. For anything going to the south east or the Niger Delta, Onne is usually faster and cheaper once inland haulage is counted, and we will say so when it applies. Heavy or out of gauge items are quoted with the road route to site checked first.
